Fabian Knecht at AURORA
Light – Video – Sound – Biennial
Nov 03, 2018
Since 2010, Aurora has escalated from a successful homegrown Dallas public art event of light, video and sound to an internationally recognized art event with over 50,000 attendees in 2015. Hundreds of recognized local, national and international artists have had artworks exhibited throughout the 72-acre Dallas Arts District footprint and beyond.
Freisetzung (2014) is an ephemeral sculpture made of dense white smoke that emerges from the top of building. The smoke billows, freely, for some time before dissipating. For AURORA, this will occur on the roof of the Dallas City Hall, restaging a piece that was previously realized by the artist at the New National Gallery in Berlin, Germany.
On view: Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018; 7pm – 2am
Venue: Dallas City Hall
