Egor Kraft
Winner of the Garage Art & Technology Grant Program, Russia
The results of the 2018/2019 Garage Art & Technology grant program, carried out in partnership with BMW Group, have been announced.
The program of grants was launched by Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in 2012 in order to create a system of complex support for emerging Russian artists and is currently the only initiative of its kind in the country. Established in 2016, the Art & Technology grant program is designed to aid individual and collective art projects in the field of IT, engineering, and science art.
Artist Egor Kraft has become its laureate in 2019. He will receive a monthly award of 30,000 rubles and an opportunity to realize his project Content Aware Studie dedicated to the reconstruction of history and collective social memory. Content Aware Studiequestions the objectivity of research in the field of history and the necessity of studying it in the context of contemporary ethics, philosophy, and anthropology. Egor Kraft will also visit the BMW Museum located at BMW Munich headquarter and consult with BMW experts regarding the implementation of his project.
Egor Kraft (b. 1986, Leningrad), interdisciplinary artist and researcher. Graduate of Gerlesborg School of Fine Arts (Sweden, 2008), Rodchenko Moscow School of Photography and Multimedia (2011) and Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Media Arts, 2014).
