The Only Stable Thing
Sep 14 – Nov 3, 2019
Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, Venice, Italy
Opening: Sep 14, 2019 | 7.30 pm
The collective exhibition The Only Stable Thing deals with kinetic and time-based art, in which movement and time are employed both as formal and conceptual aspects, generating a research whose philosophical meaning is shaping the contemporary artistic discourse.
The exhibition raises awareness on current urgent thematics of the contemporary age such as climate and social changes, the role of technology, the understanding of time and the study of natural forces.
Thus the international artists involved employ their practices to explore the present through the use of science, technology, engineering, and robotics and respond to the call of the pioneer of kinetic art, thus opening, with their investigation, a wealth of cogent reflections on the contemporaneity.
With works by Andreas Lutz, Arcangelo Sassolino, Carla Chan, Carolin Liebl & Nikolas Schmid-Pfähler, Edith Kollath, Felix Kiessling, Paul Leitner, Pe Lang
