Wälder – Von der Romantik in die Zukunft
The German Romanticism Museum
Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Mar 16 – Aug 11, 2024
Opening: Mar 17, 11am-6pm

Three museums in the Rhine-Main area take care of the forests together: The German Romantic Museum, the Senckenberg Nature Museum Frankfurt and the Museum Sinclair-Haus in Bad Homburg cooperate in a large multi-part exhibition project. The transdisciplinary exhibition combines scientific, ecological and aesthetic approaches of then and now. With exhibits from the arts, cultural and forestry history as well as the natural sciences, the show spans the arc from the epoch of Romanticism to the present to the future. Against the background of climate and biodiversity crises, the exhibition uses the example of the highly romantic topic “forest” to bring early approaches to the development of other natural conditions into a dialogue with current issues.
