IDEE + RAUM
Schloss Biesdorf, Berlin, Germany
Mar 16 – Jun 14, 2026
Opening: Mar 15, 6pm

The group exhibition IDEE + RAUM brings together artists from different generations whose works can either be clearly classified as concrete art or have a concrete appearance. All of the works in the exhibition, curated by Rüdiger Lange, are based on a clear idea that precedes their visual manifestation and materializes in space. The works—sculptures, objects, installations, drawings, wall works, and prints—open up current perspectives on space, structure, science, architecture, and design, making the artistic statements tangible in a larger context. The prints on display in particular make references that, from today’s perspective, reinforce a dialogue with principles of modernism, such as the grid motif. In an expanded understanding of the concrete, IDEE + RAUM explores the variations of the concept of the smallest possible difference between design and realization, between idea and spatial implementation.

IDEE + RAUM presents contemporary Berlin positions together with works from the Museum Utopie und Alltag / Kunstarchiv Beeskow, supplemented by further works from the late 20th century.
