Anja Nitz and Sinta Werner
Der Streuverlust des Raumes
Mar 1 – 29, 2025
European Month of Photography Berlin
Villa Heike, Berlin

Artist talk: Sat, Mar 15, 4pm with Michael Schäfer und Paulina Olszewska

The exhibition at Villa Heike Berlin shows works by Anja Nitz and Sinta Werner that deal with the fragmentation of spaces and the loss of physical spatial perception as a reaction to the general digitalisation and social networking of the world.
The exhibition is taking place as part of EMOP Berlin 2025. Its motto, What stands between us, is understood here in terms of architecture and materials: Glass and mirrors symbolise a general change in the way we see and perceive in the digital age, where contact with the outside world is largely mediated by smartphones and computer screens. The works pose for discussion the extent to which the constant use of hardware and software as well as the flood of images on the Internet can result in a disruption of interpersonal relationships. Sculptural spatial works with a photographic reference by Sinta Werner and framed photographs by Anja Nitz are brought into an artistic dialogue for the first time in the exhibition.
